The opioid epidemic is a growing problem across the nation, and communities in Iowa are struggling to address the medical and social determinants of health needs to stem the tide. In Marshalltown, local providers are taking action to assist those struggling with opioid use disorder.

Primary Health Care, Inc. and the Substance Abuse Treatment Unit of Central Iowa have collaborated to develop a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. MAT providers are making a significant impact on this issue locally, working in concert with substance abuse treatment services.

This video panel presentation highlights the collaboration between the two organizations and provides insight into the MAT program. By watching the video, viewers can learn more about the program and how they can initiate a similar collaboration in their own community.
